HELLO DENVER… 2 hours or so off schedule, we arrive in Denver and meet the RV upstairs in DEPARTING. Our names painted on the windows, Taos or bust!! We left Denver Airport around 11 and settled in for the ride. Nearly 6 hours to the venue.
We arrived after sound check, which may be a first for Jim. The band was texting to see if he was all right. When we pulled in the bassist Corey McCormick came on board. He is doing double duty filling in for Red, the bands tour manager who was hurt on the slopes a few days earlier. By the time we came inside the Mesa Brewing Company there wasn’t a table available, we needed to eat something fierce so we made the decision to eat in the green room since there was no where else to eat except the outdoor picnic tables. The problem with this plan is that the path to the green room led along side of the stage separated by a curtain which split where Tato played the drums so you were actually visible from the audience walking across the stage with your plate of food. Being as clutzy as I am and my luck that day I considered eating in the back by the bar standing up, but after I was bumped a few times by patrons and wait staff alike I decided I would have to make it to the back with my burger. The show was great of course but I think the lack of oxygen got to me before the end of the show and I got a headache. Jim caught me trying to rest in the RV when he checked on the dogs and insisted in driving me back to the motel before the end of the show.
